Happy FRIDAY, peeps! I think Friday is a great day for a…. MINI REVEAL!!! Now listen here, our nursery isn’t 100% done, but we have tons of decor up, lots of furniture in place, and I think it’s a good time for a little sneak peek!
We’ve made a ton of progress on our adventure nursery over the last 6 weeks, including…
Installing crown molding
DIY-ing lots of decor AND hanging it on the wall
Ordering the rocker and super-soft, plush rug
Sewing our own valences
K, ya ready??
(check out the bottom of this post for links to all decor!)
We’re almost through July, peeps! It’s funny living in Arizona – this is the time of year where we stay inside most of the time because it’s SO. HOT. outside! I’m not opposed to that, since I’ve been busy, ya know, growing a human!
I’m now on Week 22 and Baby R is the size of a coconut! Time is FLYING by!! As I mentioned in our nursery planning post, I decided on an adventure theme for our little boy’s room. I think this theme will be easy to play around with if we have a girl in the future.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been making huuugggeee strides in our nursery! One fun (and impactful!) project I want to share with you is a set of DIY chevron arrows, inspired by this pin. They add a fun pop of color and are pretty simple to make! Plus, the set of arrows cost us less than $20!
The day FINALLLYYYY arrived!!! On Saturday we had our gender reveal party for Baby R, and I seriously felt like I’d been waiting YEARS! Okay, not quite, but since the beginning of June I’ve been Pinterest-ing like crazy, planning the decor, menu, and activities for the big day. I even made an Excel spreadsheet to stay organized – LOL! Anyway, the day finally arrived and I was oh-so pleased with how it all turned out! Oh, and beyond ready to find out whether I’m carrying a little girly or a little boy!
Gender Reveal Decor & Voting
I wanted to have a few activities planned for the party so our guests were entertained. When they arrived, I brought them over to the voting table to cast their vote! I created a poster with gender predictions based on old wives tales and let them cast their vote on a chalkboard. Which, PSST, I bought a few of those chalkboards for my wedding and I LOVE reusing them!!
In case you missed it, last month we announced we’re expecting our first babe at the end of November! And guys… I didn’t think planning our nursery would be THIS much fun!! It’s an excuse to put together a whole new room for the best reason ever. Eek!
We hadn’t thought much about our nursery during my first trimester, but now that I’m feeling semi-back-to-normal we’re checking things off our list! Even though we don’t know baby’s gender yet, we’re starting to work on the big-ticket items – like picking a room and finding furniture!
Well HELLO there! Happy Spring, almost Summer! I’ve been a little MIA lately, and I’m only kind of sorry… because we have some really big, really exciting news! Can you guess? I’ll give you a hint!
YOU’RE SEEING THAT RIGHT!!!! IT’S A BABY!!!!!!! A WEE LITTLE ONE!!!!!!!!!! AND IT’S OURS!!!!!!!
In light of this eXciTiNg news, I’m going to mix things up a little bit! I’m starting a new “category” on Rise and Renovate for pregnancy and baby – I’ll be blogging a bit about my pregnancy and lots about creating our nursery and baby-fying our house! The countdown to November 28 begins. Let the baby-bloggin’ commence!
